A stunning Jumping Spider (Araneae: Salticidae) in genuine Baltic amber. Unfortunately the very front of the head is damaged but still a great looking inclusion. The amber is dated to the Eocene of around 50 million years ago. The piece of amber measures 31mm at it longest. |

A fantastic and rare HARVESTMAN (order: Opilione) in genuine Baltic amber. Not many of these creatures appear in amber and this appears to be Dicranopalpus ramiger (the same species I donated to the Natural History Museum). Wonderfully preserved arachnid with all legs attached still, the longest leg is around 15mm long..... The piece measures 33mm at its widest. |
